As a Senior Systems Administrator, you will play a pioneering role in ensuring the continuous optimozation, security, and performance of the company’s IT systems environment. You will work under the supervision of the Manager, IT Infrastructure and Operations.
As a Senior Systems Administrator, your responsibilities include:
- Provide technical leadership for the company.
- Ensures compliance with company security policies.
- Administer, monitor and maintain servers, storage systems and infrastructure.
- Perform capacity management.
- Maintain the server environment (physical and virtual servers).
- Manage virtual environments (VMWare ESX, VCenter, VSAN, etc.).
- Manage storage environments (SAN, iSCSI, etc.).
- Manage cloud infrastructure solutions (Microsoft 365, IAAS, PAAS, SAAS, etc.)
- Manage authentication systems (RADIUS, AD, Intra, RSA, MFA, etc.).
- Manage incidents and problems.
- Plan and coordinate timely hardware and software replacements and upgrades.
- Coordinate maintenance activities and planning.
- Create installation and operation procedures.
- Manage inventories (addressing plan, connections, schemas, DNS, etc.).
- Monitor logs and activities.
- Develop automation scripts
- Work closely with system and network administrators.
- Manage access to network systems, permissions granted to administrators and users, including additions, modifications and deletions.
- Manage security functions to protect and limit access.
- Provide procedures for IT support technicians. Provide a second level of support and training as required.
- Provide technical support.
- Monitor technology and make recommendations for changes.
- Document all changes (user impact, backtracking, impact on DRP, etc.).
- Perform hardware installation and de-installation.
- Perform any other related tasks as assigned.
To join our team, you must possess:
- University degree in computer science or equivalent combination of degrees and experience;
- Minimum of nine (9) years' relevant experience in a large company;
- Solid experience on a system environment: operating systems (e.g. Windows Server), virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure). Solid knowledge of security principles.
- Good knowledge of network concepts and protocols
- Strong understanding of virtualization and cloud solutions.
- Ability to produce documentation.
- Experience in computer system configuration and installation; network performance and monitoring tools; equipment upgrades and migration; strong troubleshooting skills with hardware and software.
- Good communication skills including popularization.
- Relevant certifications are an asset
- Bilingual (French and English).
- Availability to work outside office hours.
