Fabrication Analyst - Paint Product Specialist

Your Responsibilities

As a Product Specialist, you will play a key role in the performance of our production line. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing ongoing technical support to the production and manufacturing engineering teams.
  • Leading projects for the integration of new equipment, from selection to commissioning.
  • Analyzing production data to improve the quality and efficiency of assembly processes.
  • Designing custom tooling and overseeing its fabrication.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives and optimizing existing processes.
  • Evaluating production performance and proposing innovative, practical solutions

Profile Sought

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes (paint application, machining) – required
    • Expertise in application techniques: spraying (airless, HVLP), dipping, electrodeposition, etc.
    • Adjustment and optimization of spray parameters (pressure, flow rate, viscosity, temperature)
    • In-depth understanding of coatings (paints, primers, varnishes): types, properties, compatibility
    • Knowledge of performance standards (adhesion, chemical resistance, corrosion, abrasion, etc.)
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical data sheets and safety data sheets (TDS/SDS)
  • Solid foundation in applied physics and optical inspection – an asset
  • Proficiency in CAD software (ideally SolidWorks)
  • Ability to train operators and write clear work instructions
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite and the Windows environment
  • Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment
