Reporting to the Vice President Finance & IT, the Director, Finance is responsible for meeting accounting and reporting requirements to shareholders. He ensures the maintenance of internal controls necessary for the proper functioning of the company in collaboration with other functions as needed.
As Director, Finance, your key responsibilities include:
- Prepare and submit for review with the company management an operating budget
- Analyze monthly variances, performance against budget, trends, risks and opportunities, key drivers and sensitivities.
- Assist in the preparation of the business unit’s long-term forecasts by providing financial advice and models for the formulation of strategies and objectives
- Review and approve all capital allocations and manage property, plant and equipment.
- Prepare and negotiate rates for labor, overhead, and general and administrative expenses
- Implement new initiatives that improve accounting and reporting efficiencies
- Review inventory positions, accounts receivable, expense ledgers, and all other asset and liability accounts
- Manage the compliance team to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and Canadian trade regulations, including export restrictions.
- Conduct internal audits, and liaise with external auditors to effectively meet all compliance requirements.
How to excel in this role:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or accounting
- CPA
- Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in managing a Finance Team
- Solid knowledge of Excel
- Experience in migrating an ERP
- Knowledge of ASC606/IFRS15
- Have a high level of autonomy and organization
- Bilingual French-English
