Systems Engineer (Sugar Grove, IL)

Its principal facilities are located in Montreal, Quebec; Ottawa, Ontario; and Chicago, Illinois. CMC is a major supplier to the aerospace and high-technology industries, airlines, military agencies and government customers worldwide.  This position is located in Sugar Grove, IL.

 

As Systems Engineer, your key responsibilities include:

  • Create System requirements specification and perform functional requirement decomposition and definition as well as associated traceability. This includes means of compliance determination.
  • Experience in the Aerospace industry is ideal, Civil/Military. Avionic systems, Large Area Displays (LADs) Heads-up Displays (HUDs), Mission Computers.
  • System test plans, cases and procedures creation and/or modification, execution as well as associated traceability.  This also included generating associated results and documentation.
  • Verification methods (testing, analysis, similarity, regression, performance/load...).
  • Typical system design and /or results documentation based on program definition, including release notes and requirements deviations.
  • Test Readiness Review (TRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), Both internally and with the customer.
  • Knowledge with tested equipment that uses A429, RS422, RS485, 1553, serial, and Ethernet communications. 
  • Certification planning/Compliance E.g., DO-160, ARP 4754, ...
  • Knowledger with DAL levels, Safety Engineering, System Safety Analysis (SSA), Fema...
  • Participation in some change impact analysis (CIA) efforts and Engineering Change Orders (EOCs).
  • Participation in Change Control Boards (CCBs) to determine what task/s are to be included for a given program.
  • Experience with DOORs, MKS, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Visio) Jira
  • Knowledge with Technical Standard Order (TSOs).
  • Knowledge of International Trade Compliance (ITC) ITAR and EAR, ...  
  • Knowledge with and (ideally) used a ITC/Export Controlled system, in terms of technical data classification and export.

  • 7 years of experience in Aerospace/Avionics
