Bench Hand Operator

SUMMARY: 

The Bench Hand Operator works under the normal supervision of the Charge Hand or a supervisor. He/she performs a series of standard operations involving setting up and operating equipment in panel manufacturing shop.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Perform standard operations which involve setting up and operating the following : rotor, milling, drill press, ultra sonic inserter and occasionally radial saw and sandblast;
  • Checks own work using precision tools such as callipers, micrometers, etc.;
  • May perform assembly and spot face work as required;
  • Performs any other related tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Diploma of vocational Studies (DEP) in a relevant field;
  • Three (3) months of previous experience with acrylic work;
  • Requires the use of drawings, simple shop arithmetic and a variety of precision measuring instruments.
