Why join our Production Support Engineering team?

Position reporting to the Engineering Manager, Operations Support, Under the supervision of the Montreal Production Support Engineering group (core team), you will join amultidisciplinary team to provide technical support to the production, testing, R&O and delivery of variousavionic products. You will perform hands-on technical investigations, propose and implement solutions inthe areas of yield issues, design issues and component obsolescence while meeting on-time delivery tocustomers. The scope of support will be to the Manufacturing group, the Repair and Overhaul group, theTest Engineering department, and the Engineering Design team.

As a Production Support Scientist your key responsibilities include:

  • Provide first line of technical support (point of contact) to resolve production problems and defective units from customer (R&O) for various avionic products;
  • Perform problem analysis, root cause identification and solution validation by using the appropriate tools such as oscilloscopes, Digital Multi-meters, Logic Analyzers and other custom equipment;
  • Execute process to respond to Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), Engineering Change Order (ECO’s) and change impact analysis (CIA’s);
  • Respond to and resolve hardware component obsolescence issues as they arise during the life cycle of the product;
  • Generate and submit accurate documentation including root cause analyses, product training material, and procedures;
  • Participate in design to cost studies and the design of cost optimized solutions.
  • Participate in the Productivity Improvement initiatives;

To join our team, you must:

  • Demonstrated expertise with testing equipment in environmental chambers per quality standards and procedures such as RTCA/DO-160 or MIL-STD-810;
  • Dynamic, autonomous, organized, leadership and strong interpersonal skills.

To excel in this role, you must have:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent;
  • Possess at least 5 years’ experience in in hardware electronics environment and knowledge preferably in a high-tech environment: aerospace, telecommunications (job tyype or environment);
  • Demonstrated good analytical skills to resolve technical investigation, root cause analysis and resolution on products in a manufacturing environment.
  • Fully bilingual French and English (spoken and written)
