As a Software Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in transforming CMC Electronics’ engineering teams. Your key responsibilities include:
- Developing resource plans for the engineering team and ensuring their availability to meet business unit objectives;
- Contributing to the development of strategic plan and initiatives, such as reviewing engineering processes to improve quality, reduce costs, reduce schedule, and ensure they are rigorously applied to all projects;
- Participating and fostering senior technical staff participation in aviation standards committees such as RTCA, AEEC, and SAE;
- Ensuring all engineering deliverables meet the company’s quality standards;
- Hiring, developing, and training staff, while promoting senior staff succession plans and cross-training of junior staff.
To excel in this role, you must:
- Hold at least a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or equivalent
- Have at least 10 years of relevant experience in the development, validation, and/or verification of software, ideally avionic or embedded software
- Experience in leading and implementing organizational transformation initiatives
- Knowledge of aircraft airworthiness certification, particularly the DO-178B/C standard and its DO-33x supplements, is an asset
- Combine strong leadership and management skills with your technical expertise
- Be bilingual in French and English, both orally and in writing.
