
Configuration/Document Specialist (Sugar Grove, IL)

Summary
The Configuration/Documentation Specialists Class 2 is a level at which the incumbent is mainly performing the Configuration and /or Document Management coordination of engineering design projects. Under the general supervision of a Team Leader or Manager estimates, plans, coordinates and executes the detailed Configuration and /or Documentation Management task needed by the different Programs. Interfaces mainly with local customers and teams at Project Engineer and peer level. Handles assigned Engineering Projects in accordance with established Configuration Plans. Has advanced technical/administrative knowledge of activities relevant relevant to his/her field.
As Configuration/Document Specialist, your key responsibilities include:
- Organizes and coordinates Configuration and/or Document Management tasks (Reviews, Release, Publication) and deliverables within established Configuration Plans, and proposes changes to established Plans when applicable.
- Ensures the engineering documentation Releases for both hardware and software deliverables are completed by following the prescribed workflows.
- Participates in the definition, implementation and improvement of Configuration and/or Document Management standards, formats and new tools.
- Follows up on project requirements, deadlines and costs and generates status reports as applicable.
- Participates in Process improvement initiatives and makes recommendations as applicable.
- Participates in relevant Project Meetings and Audits as applicable.
- Participates in the training of Configuration newcomers and provides technical support to junior departmental staff.
- Performs any other related tasks as assigned.

- Minimum three (3) years of previous progressively more responsible related experience.
- Duties requiring knowledge management or equivalent is an asset.
