Why Join the Software Engineering Team – Mission Systems

As a Software Applications Engineering Manager, you will manage a team of avionic software, systems, and human factors engineers, and you will be responsible for delivering projects within budget, schedule, specified performance, and quality requirements.

 

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Developing resource plans for the engineering team and ensuring their availability to meet business unit objectives;
  • Contributing to the development of strategic plan and initiatives, such as reviewing engineering processes to improve quality, reduce costs, reduce schedule, and ensure they are rigorously applied to all projects;
  • Participating and fostering senior technical staff participation in aviation standards committees such as RTCA, AEEC, and SAE;
  • Ensuring all engineering deliverables meet the company’s quality standards;
  • Hiring, developing, and training staff, while promoting senior staff succession plans and cross-training of junior staff.

 

To excel in this role, you must: 

  • Hold at least a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or equivalent;
  • Have at least 10 years of relevant experience in the development, validation, and/or verification of avionics software, or embedded aerospace or aeronautical software;
  • Have solid knowledge of airworthiness certification processes for military and commercial aircraft, more specifically with DO-178B/C standard and its annexes DO-33x;
  • Having experience in leading organizational transformations;
  • Combine strong leadership and management skills with your technical expertise;
  • Be bilingual in French and English, both orally and in writing.
