Reporting to the System Engineering Team Lead, the System Développeur is responsible to execute or lead the development of avionics products for safety critical and/or military applications. The System Développeur will be a dynamic, self-motivated individual who can quickly become a contributor of a multi-disciplined development team. Designs include a combination of linear electronics (analog), power (switching) electronics and embedded microprocessor circuits and integrating various video and data transfer protocols for use in various avionics products.
As a System developer your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Review and estimate customer requests and develop competitive technical solutions addressing their needs
- Working in collaboration with other system engineers either member of the team or consultants) as well as customers in order to validate the proposed solutions and recommend solutions addressing the requirements while respecting cost and schedule constraints.
- Develop analog and digital circuits and printed circuit boards for avionics equipment.
- Works within a multi-disciplinary team consisting of systems, mechanical, software, and firmware engineers, and may lead team depending on scope of project.
- Develop circuits to EMI and Lightning protection requirements
- Creates and maintains detailed product documentation
- Ensure technology transfer between R & D projects, engineering design and production
- Provide production support and technical guidance to resolve electrical issues
- Provide technical assistance for bids & proposals, demonstrations and technical telecons
- Implement design initiatives to improve production efficiency and cost savings
- Participate in continuous improvement projects
- Perform any other related tasks as assigned
To join our team, you should have:
- Minimum 10 years of experience preferably in a relevant technology environment such as aeronautics, aerospace, naval, automotive, telecommunications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- Member of the OIQ or eligible for OIQ membership
- History of successful electrical designs that have performed through environmental qualification testing and have entered production
- Circuit design and analysis skills (calculation, simulation, de-rating analysis, prototype test, documentation, verification, etc.) with a strong understanding of thermal management and mechanical integration.
- Excellent technical communication and documentation skills in English and French with some understanding of formal configuration management and version control
- Highly detail oriented individual with a self-motivated work ethic
- Candidate must be dynamic, disciplined, methodic and able to work within a team and with limited technical guidance.
Assets:
- Experienced with Arm Based Cortex M4F/R4F/R5F microcontrollers
- Experienced with Xpedition designer, MS excel, and Spice based simulation
- Experienced with RTCA/DO-160, DO-254, MIL-STD-461/704/810, SAE-Aerospace (AS8055)
- Experienced in execution of environmental testing of electronic equipment.
- Preferred working knowledge of Video transmission standards such as:
- ARINC818, DVI, LVDS, HD-SDI
- Preferred working knowledge of I/O standards such as:
- PCI-Express, Ethernet, USB, ARINC-429, RS422/485, I2C(SMBUS) and SPI.
- Previous experience in the development of electronic military equipment
- Aircraft Pilot’s license
