Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, CMC are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement processes, project management, vendor management, negotiation, and contract management. The Procurement Specialist will play a crucial role in optimizing our procurement strategies to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and efficiency across the organization

 

As a Procurement Specialist will include: 

  • Define and maintain, in collaboration with the procurement, engineering and sales teams, a solid and robust procurement strategy to support operations and program requirements, while generating value for the organization (savings, avoided costs, etc.).
  • Lead the negotiation of CMC Electronics requirements for subcontracts with existing and potential suppliers, within the parameters set by management
  • Evaluation of commercial proposals and final selection of the supplier with the teams involved
  • Coordinate the preparation of proposals, including the audit of tenders, and take responsibility for the preparation of terms and conditions, compliance matrices and commercial terms and conditions
  • Ensure performance, compliance with contractual obligations, contract maintenance and liaison with key sub-contractors and strategic suppliers
  • Resolve commercial disputes when required
  • Identify and lead productivity projects to reduce procurement costs such as cost reductions and make-or-buy analysis to optimize operational efficiency, improve profitability, and support strategic decision-making
  • Assess and mitigate procurement-related risks such as supply chain disruptions, supplier financial stability, and regulatory compliance issues. Develop contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategies to minimize risk exposure
  • Monthly and adhoc reporting

 

To excel in this role, you must hold: 

  • Bachelor's Degree with specialized study of Business Administration or equivalent
  • Minimum five (5) or more years of related experience in supply chain, sourcing, sub-contracts and contracts administration/management
  • Knowledge and experience in an Aerospace contracting environment is an asset.
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Project management experience
  • Experience in direct and indirect goods. Experience in IT contracts and licensing a plus
  • Hands-on MRP knowledge
  • Make or Buy strategy experience
  • Bilingual (French/English). Working in an international marketplace the individual must have strong communication (oral and written), and be fluent in English.
  • Proficient with MS Office software.
