The Wave Soldering Machine Operator works under a normal supervision of the team leader or supervisor. Operates and performs regular operating maintenance and cleaning on automatic soldering and defluxing machines.
As a Wave Soldering Machine Operator, your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Adjusts controls of automatic flux applicator, solder temperature, heating elements, conveyor speeds, blade height, etc. using wave solder computer;
- Maintains all liquids such as solvent, solder flux, etc. at required levels;
- Screens boards prior to and after soldering to ensure that all parts are there, mounted properly and not damaged;
- Checks solder side of the board for short circuits, cold joints, etc. and resolders as required;
- Unmasks boards by removing tape, silicone or equivalent material;
- Proceeds to the washing of boards when they come out of the wave soldering machine;
- May have to use the mini wave machine when required;
- Uses and adjusts the height of the blade on the machine for cutting unclamped component ends, if required;
- Carries out the preventive maintenance of all equipment, based on the schedule and established procedure;
- Replaces the distilled water cylinders, if necessary;
- Performs other normal tasks as assigned.
To join our team, you must hold:
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Minimum of six (6) months of experience in soldering printed circuits boards components;
- The use of simple arithmetic, such as addition and subtraction of decimals and fractions together with simple drawings.
