Manager, Quality

Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Quality Assurance, the Quality Manager is responsible for the co-ordination of quality control information from field, customer, production, inspection and in-plant test. 

 

As a Quality Manager, your day-to-day responsibilities will include: 

  • Lead a team of Quality specialists and inspectors, assign work/priorities and secure alignment of the team to ensure CMC’s performance meets or exceed established objectives;
  • Responsible for the Invoice inspection and secure timely turnaround in order to meet the company objectives;
  • Interface with the support functions (Engineering, Quality, test, industrial methods, …) about Quality topics;
  • Administrator for our quality platform TipQA; support activities, lead improvement initiatives, approve new users;
  • Accountable for the final inspection of all products, ensures inspection procedures and work instructions are written and up to date;
  • Provide training to employees about processes and procedures in his area of expertise (Non-conformance, transport Canada, stamps, FAI…);
  • Review and approves First Article Inspection reports;
  • Ensures all non-conformities are properly documented and proper dispositions are taken in order to secure production and the customers;
  • Ensures that root cause analysis are carried out and that relevant corrective actions are implemented to avoid any recurrence;
  • Acts as FOD leader (Prevention, Detection and removal of Foreign objects), is responsible for the development of FOD prevention program and ensures that prevention is everybody’s responsibility;
  • Point of contact with the local representative from the department of National Defense or external customers;
  • Review and ensures customer complaints/returns are answered promptly using portals when requested by customers;
  • Monitor Production and field Quality performance and secure adequate actions are taken in accordance with the Failure Review Board Process (FRB) ;

 

 To excel in this role, you must hold: 

  • At least a university certificate in a relevant field
  • 10 years related experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Aerospace.
  • Experience as an internal auditor is preferred.
  • Experience in continuous improvement processes is preferred.
  • Experience with civil aviation regulations would be an asset;
  • Knowledge of applicable Quality Standards (AS9100, TCCA, NADCAP, FOD, …)
