We are looking for a passionate and motivated Fabrication Analyst – Product Specialist to join our dynamic Manufacturing Engineering team. Position reporting to the Supervisor, Methods and Processes, within the Manufacturing Engineering team. This role does not manage a team and is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations, product introduction, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
As a Fabrication Analyst – Product Specialist your key responsibilities include:
- Leading projects for the introduction of new manufacturing equipment, from selection through commissioning
- Analyzing production data to improve the quality and efficiency of manufacturing processes
- Selecting appropriate technologies to enhance manufacturing performance
- Ensuring the introduction of new products and the evolution of existing products in manufacturing
- Providing technical support to the production team
- Acting as a change agent for continuous improvement by applying Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies
To join our team, you must:
- Knowledge of optoelectronic components (optical sources and detectors) and optical assembly processes (an asset)
- Familiarity with microelectronic and electromechanical manufacturing processes (an asset)
- Basic knowledge of materials and metrology (an asset)
- Experience working in an environment that promotes Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma approaches (an asset)
To excel in this role, you must have:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in physical engineering, mechanical engineering, automated production, aerospace engineering, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent;
- Possess at least 5 years’ experience in manufacturing or industrialization environments, ideally within optoelectronics or advanced manufacturing ;
- Experience in project management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Windows
