The Wire Preparation Assembly Operator works under the supervision and direction of the Supervisor or his/her delegate.  Achieves a complex editing job that requires precise adjustments and adjustments.  May also perform repairs or modifications, based on detailed instruction requirements or samples.  In addition, he or she helps with training as needed.

 

 

As Wire Preparation Assembly Operator, your day-to-day responsibilities include:

 

  • Works from drawings, lists of operations, visual aids, samples, verbal and written instructions, using a variety of hand and motor instruments; uses measuring instruments such as the micrometer, the vernier ruler, the thickness gauge; also uses simple or complex manual or motor tools, etc. ;
  • Installs and operates devices to register, cut, form, crimp and strip wire and related equipment;
  • Selects the wire size based on wire list information, wire cut list, and operations list. Choose the sheet of metal and the characters of the inscriptions; install it on the device and adjust the temperature, the pressure and the momentary stop of the movement;
  • Choose blades to strip and cut, etc. and installs them in the device to cut and strip the wires to the desired size. Adjusts the unit to obtain length, stripped portion, print quality, count, desired speed, etc. ;
  • Check if there are check marks on the threads; check the length, the stripped portion, the quality of the print.
  • Performs daily preventive maintenance of equipment. Performs adjustments and reports significant troubles to the supervisor;
  • Uses electronic devices to measure different parameters;
  • Sometimes makes mechanical arrangements that require adjustments. May also perform repairs or modifications such as replacing or adding parts or components, requiring no major disassembly, etc;
  • Performs other normal tasks as assigned.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 6 month of relevant experience.
  • Requires the use of simple arithmetic such as addition and subtraction of decimals, fraction together with simple drawings and measuring instruments such as calliper, micrometer, gauge, etc.
