Program Manager

This position is a hybrid role and requires three days in office.  This position is located in Sugar Grove, Illinois.  

SUMMARY 

The Program Manager is accountable for the overall schdeule, financial, and scope related to the execution of the program, in accordance with the contractual and company commitments of CMC and the laws, regulations and administrative ruling of governmental organizations.

Your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Accountable for Programs' financials, schedule, scope and execution.
  • Leads and drives all program activities required to meet the program commitments (internal and external) in collaboration with all the functional leads.
  • Is the primary customer interface during the program execuation.
  • Manage and reports the progress of the program toward customer and internal deliverables (NRE and/or equipment), and takes corrective actions as challenges arise.
    • Ensures each program's financial and earned value metrics are reported accurately and reflect the progress completed and balance to go.
    • Periodically follow up and update financial documents (e.g/ BSGM, OTD report, etc).
    • Prepare and update the program schedule and ensure it meets the customer's needs, as well as the sales objectives.
    • Manage engineering priorities in case of conflicts.
    • Manage program risks.
    • Manager overall program scope and identify out of scopes.
    • Manager customer expectations.
    • Ensuring appropiate staffing is allocated to the program.
    • Works closley with the Project Engineer for all resource needs and issues.
    • Identify and report unresolved resource issues, such as shortages and lack of subject matter expertise, and drive for a resoluation.
    • Ensure all customer dependencies are provided in a timely fashion for the program execution.
    • Monitor and document customer performance and delays (such as delays in providing required specifications, aircraft availability, delays in design aprovals, etc.)
    • Track and identify program impact due to customer performance and ensure any impacts on CMC's deliverables to the customer are not impacted by such delays (Claims, LDs, penalities, etc.).
    • Ensure customer is on time with payments.
    • Responsible for driving and keeping up to date on the program milestons schedule.
    • Provide forecast on milestones completion.
    • Provide financial forecast for monthly/quarterly/yearly bookings and sales.
    • Ensure sufficient costs has been accumulated in order to recognize the underlying mileston revenue.
    • Planning programs with the lead-time required to effectively execute the corresponding engineering and operations.
  • Ensure implementation of program capibilities are in line with the product line's objectives.
  • Coordinate with Operations/Production for program execution and hardware deliverables: raise SOAs based on forecasts.
  • Raise and maintain the required Work Authorizations (WA) and requisition forms for the program.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction and report any customer issues to upper mangement.
  • Support contract negotiations.
  • Participate and lead proposals as applicable.
  • Can be called upon to lead and coordinate aspects of a proposal estimate, with includes but not limited to: Engineering estimates, Subcontracts, Factory costs, and Bought Out Parts (BOP).

Requirements to excel in this role, you must have:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent as a minimum.
  • MBA would be as asset.
  • PMP accrediation would be an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 - 10 years of experience in development, production, or support of avionics systems or complex electronics embedded systems.
  • Good knowledge of software development project/program planning and excution.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and leadership skills.
  • Excellent writing skills for interfacing with internal/external support groups.
  • Ability of organizing, implementing and evaluating multidisciplinary activities in a complex environment.
  • Bilingual (French/English), verbal and written would be helpful.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder
