Production Supervisor – Microelectronics

Why should you join the Microelectronics team?

As Supervisor of the Microelectronics department, you will be responsible, in a matrix structure, for 20 to 30 unionized production employees on day and evening shifts for assigning priorities and implementing new production strategies between production cells. You will have to meet delivery and quality targets set by your Manufacturing Manager while ensuring a high level of mobilization within your team.

 

As a Production Supervisor, your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Manage priorities and delivery dates to ensure customer satisfaction;
  • Plan and schedule work to meet forecasts and maximize available resources;
  • Analyze and report on production progress to his/her Manufacturing Manager and to various levels of management within the Company;
  • Provide advice to ensure production problems are resolved as quickly as possible;
  • Manage employee training programs;
  • Monitor employee performance and participate in its improvement;
  • Conduct annual employee appraisals;
  • Work closely with managers in other sectors.
  • Implement and maintain "Lean Manufacturing" in the cleanroom, emphasizing lean manufacturing, Six sigma and/or kanban approaches;
  • Initiate and lead improvement projects;
  • Support production process improvement initiatives;

 

To join our team, you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical diploma combined with relevant experience;
  • 3 to 5 years' relevant experience in manufacturing processes and operations management, preferably in a high-tech environment: aerospace, telecommunications;
  • Supervisory experience with production employees, ideally in a unionized environment;
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change;
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills;
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing an asset;
  • Bilingualism (French - English, spoken and written) is a prerequisite;
  • Knowledge of material planning and management processes (MRP);
  • Flexibility to assist occasionally on other shifts;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Windows software.
