As an Engineering Manager, Software, you will report to the Engineering Director and lead and develop a team of software engineering professionals delivering compliant, high-quality avionics software. You will be accountable for staff capability and performance, resource planning, training, engineering estimates, and adherence to regulatory and company processes. This position works closely with Project Engineers, Chief Engineers, Program Management, Quality/Compliance, and engineering teams to align software capability and capacity with business and program commitments.

As a Engineering Manager, Software your key responsibilities include:

  • Lead, develop, and manage software engineers and related engineering staff.
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, career development, and prioritization guidance.
  • Develop and maintain resource plans for the software engineering team.
  • Maintain and support software engineering processes, tools, standards, and practices.
  • Contribute to, review, and approve software engineering estimates.
  • Coordinate with Project Engineers, Chief Engineers, Program Management, Quality/Compliance, and engineering teams.

To join our team, you must:

  • Flight Management Systems development experience.
  • Experience with TSO-C115 and DO-187 MOPS.
  • Strong experience with DO-178B/C and related supplements, including DO-33x.
  • Experience with partitioned embedded real-time software and ARINC-653 compliant RTOS environments.
  • Familiarity with Integrated Modular Avionics, RTCA DO-297, FACE, open software platforms, and ARINC-664.
  • Experience with systems and safety standards such as ARP4754 and ARP4761.
  • Experience supporting civil and/or military certification programs.

To excel in this role, you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in engineering development for commercial and/or military aviation electronics or other safety-critical embedded systems.
  • Experience leading, supervising, or managing software engineering teams.
  • Avionics development and certification experience is required.
  • Solid experience with regulated software development processes, preferably including DO-178B/C.
  • Experience with embedded real-time software development.
  • Experience with software requirements, development, verification, integration, configuration management, and change control.
  • Strong knowledge of airworthiness certification processes for military and/or commercial aircraft.
  • Bilingualism in French and English, oral and written, is required.
